Diego N. Irirgoyen's Bio

Diego Nuñez Irigoyen studied Film at the Buenos Aires Film University and brings a background in both film and theatre direction to his work. His distinctive voice is rooted in performance and storytelling, blending sharp wit with a strong instinct for creating tension through uniquely observed, deeply human moments.

His masterful approach to casting adds spontaneity and energy to his films, resulting in work that feels fresh, nuanced, and consistently compelling to watch. Whether leaning into humour or something more intimate, Diego’s films are always driven by performance, instinct, and craft.

Alongside his performance-led approach, Diego is known for ambitious, conceptually driven projects. The Almost Identical Experience, which collected eight Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, including three Gold, saw him not only direct the film component but also develop the wider visual language of the installations and interactive elements. His work has earned over a dozen Lions at Cannes, alongside recognition from Clio Awards, D&AD, Effie Awards and El Ojo de Iberoamérica, where he was named both Best Ibero-American Director and Best Argentine Director.
